Hey, is anyone out there? We need your help badly! We are just babies; we have never known what it feels like not to have hot itchy infected skin. We can’t play, we just scratch. Our owner took us to a county shelter and pretended he had just found us, he was afraid he would get in trouble. At least he knew he did something wrong, but that doesn’t help us. The shelter doesn’t want people to see puppies like us so we got put in a cage in the back of the shelter, they will leave us for 4 days and then it is the end for us. We promise we will be really cute just like any puppy we just need some care to get better. We know someone would want us then. Would you help us? |

MESSAGE FROM ROBIN We are torn with terrible choices. The county and city shelters are full of German Shepherds who haven’t gotten the care they need. A sweet girl just arrived from a shelter in Downey with a cracked pelvis, another with a paw fracture, another with pneumonia. We have 16 dogs under veterinary care, our vet bills are running between $15,000 to $17,000 a month, we get huge discounts but it is still beyond what we can handle. It is so heartbreaking to walk away from a friendly, tail wagging, young and beautiful dog because we don’t have the money to help them. In this economy people are giving up their dogs because they can’t pay for their care, we have never had medical bills like this before. A man whose two dogs got out and picked up by animal control, one was hit by a car and had a leg fracture; the man came to the shelter and just took the healthy one home, as far as he knew the other was going to be euthanized. We saved him, and he is an amazing dog who loves his new family and is devoted to the children. We really need help, people always tell us to let them know when we really need their help. This is the time! Summers are always terrible, people think it is a convenient time just before vacation to dump their dogs in a shelter or even worse just let them go to avoid the $25 relinquish fee. The dogs are often hurt by the time animal control catches them. About 80% of the dogs we rescued are supposedly “strays”, they are just dogs given up by people afraid to have to pay a relinquish fee. This summer is even worse, people often just leave their dogs in the backyard and move away, we get calls often from neighbors. We need the help of good people to make this a better world for the animals! Any help is so appreciated, Thank you, Robin |
OWNER WANTS TO SHOOT THEM IN THE HEAD TO GET RID OF THEM |
||
Two German Shepherds have lived their lives on a heavy chain; they sleep in a disgusting dog house and have only known filth and neglect. The owner wants them “gone’, he plans to put a bullet to their heads like he did his last dog who was hurt and he didn’t want to spend any money on her. The dogs are still young; three years and a year. We want to send them to a training ranch where they can run and play and be taught some of the things they have missed. They aren’t ready to be adopted, but the thought of them getting shot and not knowing anything good is so overwhelmingly tragic. We need to raise $1,200 each so we have someplace for them to go. |

We need foster homes desperately! We need short term fosters for puppies in the L.A. area, we need fosters for the older ones who do badly in a kennel after being in a home for most of their lives. We need some experienced people to work with the ones who need some training and those that just haven’t been taught house manners. We will take whatever time you have to give to these deserving dogs. Please contact Robin 310-202-7283 or Robin@sheprescue.org or Karen k9karen@sbcglobal.net |
