Apollo von Alpaugh
Apollo von Alpaugh is a very handsome 18 month old Shepherd/Rottie mix on the smaller side. Apollo von Alpaugh was rescued from starving in a lonely truckstop in the scorching heat of Central California. He’s now a compact 56.5-pound 1.5 yr-old whose constant tail-wagging shows he loves everything and everyone, including his two much bigger WGSR foster siblings. He walks great on leash, staying close to your right side. Apollo came to his foster home wonderfully housebroken and comfortable with staying in a crate at night and for those rare occasions. He may never be your extreme sports buddy but more than makes up for that in the snuggling and lounging, as he bonds to humans quickly. He’s learning commands, gaining weight, takes treats gently, and only barks because his siblings taught him! He loves to roughhouse with his GSD “auntie”. Apollo is both sensitive and eager to learn; he’ll need lots of reassurance and confidence-building as he gets familiar with a life away from the hot and dusty agricultural fields. He’d do well with kids, a nice yard, and a furry buddy closer to his size. He’s probably too fun for a cat. Even after all he’s been through, he’s ready to be your new best friend. |
