Athena von Adelina is a beautiful 12-month-old German Shepherd. Her alert eyes let you know that nothing gets past her and she has your back. Sweet and loving, Athena is gentle with humans and enjoys attention. This mid-energy girl is good with children, house-trained, crate-trained and knows her basic commands. Once her initial energy is released, she walks well on leash, is gracious when meeting other dogs and respects their space. In doggie playgroups Athena is tolerant of other dogs running around and sniffing her, but opts to observe the action rather than participate, seeking out her humans to hang around with. Athena will probably be an ideal family dog, the only caveat being that her owner needs to establish boundaries from the very beginning. She doesn’t want other dogs approaching her dinner bowl (which is true of most dogs) and will also try to climb even an 8-foot fence. She needs a home where someone is present to supervise her and where she will be indoors when the family is away (but think of how great she will be in an agility competition!)
