The California Highway Patrol found a beautiful long haired shepherd at the side of the road, he had been hit by a car. His leg was badly fractured and he was in pain. Despite being in pain he was friendly and grateful to them for helping him. We now need your help to pay for surgery for Calvin. You can see the x-rays and the extent of the multiple fractures. The good news is the leg can be fixed, it will require a pin and a plate. Even with a very generous discount from a kind and talented orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Anderson at Animal Medical Emergency, the surgery is $2,500. Calvin is one of those special dogs, so far everyone from the CHP, to the shelter staff to the medical staff at ASEC, everyone is rooting for Calvin.
