Dixie von Destiny (aka Piper) is a very sweet, beautiful 8 month old German Shepherd. Sweet Dixie comes out of her kennel excitedly, sometimes jumping up to hug the first volunteer she sees. A quick correction does the trick, as she sits immediately, remembering that she is a polite lady dog. Dixie walks great on leash and especially loves to walk next to another playful dog. This pretty blonde pup can easily be found on the sidewalk at Westside, lying on her back and receiving belly rubs from her favorite volunteers. She is so happy and well-socialized, her playgroup time is clearly the highlight of her day. She runs into the yard with excitement and invites all her four-legged friends to play with her, and never seems to tire of running around or playing tag with them. Dixie would do wonderfully at the dog park or at a doggie day care, but might overwhelm a mellow, older dog. She would thrive in an active home that would take her on frequent hikes or runs, or else have a large yard with another playful pup to romp around with.
