Eirene von Baumgarten is an impressive looking 3 year old German Shepherd. One glance at Eirene and we can tell she is something special. She is clearly from show lines, we can tell by her stance and conformation. Eirene is also most likely a dog trained to work; she is very alert and watches everything. Eirene is obedience trained and responds instantly to commands; she seems to know them in English and German. She also knows hand signals. When you give her the command for down, she hits the ground. Eirene was very friendly when she met the volunteers for the first time and is great with the staff at the boarding kennel, but she watched a homeless man intently and then barked at him when he tried to move his cart in her direction. Once he stopped, she stopped and turned her attention back to the volunteer. Eirene has had good care, her coat is perfect, her weight is perfect - who knows how she was lost. She is an amazing dog.
