Elijah von Engel is a beautiful 18 month old Shepherd mix.
Per Elijah himself:
My name is Elijah and I'm one of the new dogs at Westside. I might not be a German Shepherd but the shelter staff begged Westside to take me because I am "just a little black dog" and we're always the last to be adopted if we're adopted at all. I don't remember my last family but I'm very scared at the kennel and would love a foster home or better yet, a forever home. I am very sweet, gentle and if you give me a chance and sit with me for a spell, I will come closer and closer till I am leaning on you. My favorite volunteers get so happy when they see my tail 'untuck' a bit .. progress! I only weigh 47 pounds (I am in good shape) so I will be perfect for those of you looking for a smaller dog. I am 12-18 mos old, still very young. Will you please give me a chance and come see me?
