Elke von Elkenhof is a delightful 10-11 month old Shepherd mix. We have a most amazing photographer here at the rescue, a total pro who can get dogs to model like nobody’s business, but Elke’s gentle, loving eyes must be seen to be believed. Her eyes look right into your soul with the conviction that you are her kindred spirit. Elke leaps out of her kennel with pure joy; A walk? With you? Is there anything better in this life? At first she pulls with great enthusiasm but, after a short half block, settles down to walk happily at your pace. If you happen to say her name while walking, why, this love bug extraordinaire will sit right down and look up at you with the sweetest expression you’ve ever seen. When Elke meets other dogs, she engages them with joy, every single one of them.
