Freddie von Freital is a striking 2 year old German Shepherd. On a brisk walk down the street, people will stop to tell you that he is the most gorgeous dog they have ever seen. If that is true, Freddie wonders why he is still stuck in a kennel. He walks great on leash and, despite his young age, is the mid energy dog that many adopters prefer. He would love to find a patient owner because loud noises or sudden movements still startle him, such as: bikes, chairs scraping, buses; this will lessen with more exposure to the world. Freddie meets new dogs tentatively but never shows any aggression towards them. His sweet nature really comes through once he gets comfortable with his handler – he appreciates being petted, loves belly rubs and will give you the gentlest bear hugs. He enters his playgroup timidly but meets everyone well, although he is not a fan of dominant males who try to boss him around. He becomes very jolly when his handler pets him and prefers to soak up his human’s attention instead of playing with the other dogs. Freddie’s transformation from fearful to trusting will truly melt your heart, and he hopes that you will give him a chance to show his happy, playful side.
