Gus von Matterhorn is a 3 year old sable German Shepherd. The sables are often used as working dogs in Europe and bred for temperament and health. Our guess is that someone spent a lot of money for an import, working line dog, but Gus doesn't have the drive to be a working dog, he rather be a companion dog and hang out with his person. He would love to jog with you but just as happily sleep under the desk while you work. He is so low key that when the rescue has to make an appearance someplace chaotic Gus is always the choice, he looks great but is so well behaved, nothing disturbs him, dogs barking, jumping, he is always his perfectly behaved self.Gus rides well in the car and is an easy guest at a foster home with dogs of all sizes.
