Hamlet von Helsa is a beautiful 2 year old Malamute mix (our best guess). It doesn’t get much cuddlier than our resident fluffball Hamlet. Hamlet has come a long way from the shy, scared boy that he was when he first arrived at Westside. He has settled into a nice, medium energy, and even leans against you like a cat after you oblige him with a back scratch. Hamlet is discovering every day what it is like to be loved by so many volunteers and he is loving it so much! Once afraid of the collar and leash, now he wags his tail when he sees it, knowing that it means he gets to go on a nice, long walk in the park. He walks well on leash and also meets other dogs better, as he is no longer wary of them. When Hamlet really gets to know you, he shows his goofy side, sometimes choosing to sit on your lap. The guy seems to forget that he is a big dog. Hamlet enters his playgroup more comfortably every time, and is relaxed with some mellow females. He prefers to explore the yard and his tail never stops wagging. Hamlet likes to gallop around and act really playful and silly, and seems to be trying to make us laugh. Sweet Hamlet has changed so much in such a short time; we can’t wait to see what a loving home will do for him.
