Horst von Himmel is a delightful and social 14 month old German Shepherd.  This classic-looking, medium-energy guy sports a smile whenever a walker approaches his kennel to take him for a stroll.  Since arriving at the rescue, Horst makes everyone smile about how far he has come!  Horst has learned the limits of his leash and he responds quickly to correction -- especially if a "Good Boy" is being aimed in his direction. Big, sweet and lovable towards people, Horst always wants to be at your side (at cuddles’ length he calls it).  He eats up attention and repays with huge Shepherd-sized kisses. Around other dogs, Horst is a certified ladies' man.  He does okay with easy- going males on leash, but Horst really lights up whenever there is a female dog nearby.  He gets very playful when he meets one in the play yard.  Horst's ideal home would 1) keep up his leash training and beyond, and  2) be sure cuddles come aplenty.  So if you checked off these two,  come meet Horst!
