Kiefer von Karlsbad, a 10 month old coated German Shepherd, was scared when we first picked him up from the spay and neuter clinic. This gentle puppy, like most intelligent German Shepherds, was sensitive enough and smart enough to know just how dire his situation had been in the cold, high volume, high kill shelter. As soon as he jumped into the crate in the volunteer’s car, he felt safe and began the wonderful transformation from scared and lonely to sweet and loving. He has been helped along his path by a wonderful foster home. With love and patience, Kiefer has blossomed and is now a dog who loves the company of the people around him and bonds well with his foster canine siblings. He just needed a little patience to bring out the wonderful and gentle soul within. Now he is ready to bond with his forever person and begin the next chapter of his new life.
