Luke von Lenzen is a stunning 4-5 year old German Shepherd. Per his own words, “Hi! My name is Luke. They called me a stunning shepherd but I have a wound on my nose, and even though potential adopters love me and think I’m just the sweetest, it seems to deter them from actually taking me home. I know that my wound would eventually heal, and just wish that someone would give me a chance! I am a big guy but don’t you worry, I walk so well on leash, you can probably walk me with one hand. I walk confidently with my head up high, even if I know that people are pointing at my nose. I am mid-energy but can be a bit pushy when meeting dogs and sometimes I react, but maybe you can teach me what to do? When I get adequate exercise I am pretty calm around them. The kennel workers call me a “giant love bug” since I just swoon when you start petting me, but I still pace a little when I get anxious. I do pretty well in playgroups: I like to explore the yard first before I go around and say hi. Actually I am much better with meeting dogs off-leash than on-leash. When dogs react to me I can growl a little but then I remember my manners and walk away. I like everyone in there but please don’t make me live with a dominant male!
