Montgomery von Freund is a spectacular 14 month old long haired German Shepherd. His conformation is amazing and he has the gait of a show dog, he just glides as if he hardly touches the ground. Monty is a very gentle dog and is only with us today because of some very kind people helped get him down from a shelter in Northern California. Many of the long haired German Shepherds have milder temperaments, they are more sensitive, being in stressful kill shelters is so terrifying for them they they are deemed unadoptable. Watching Montgomery come alive in a foster home is so heartwarming. On his morning walk he loves nothing better than to pace himself between his two foster canines. He loves looking behind to make sure his foster mom is coming, it is also a look of total gratitude. He loves to give kisses and just hang out by your feet. Monty is housebroken and well behaved in the house. He met some newborn grandchildren and was well behaved. He has some training, walks well on the leash, rides well in the car. He defers to any other dog, he is as beta as they come. Once he reaches his correct weight he should be between 75 and 80 pounds. He shows no interest in squirrels so we have a feeling cats would be fine with Monty. He is such a gentle should and will make such a  wonderful and kind new family member for the right family.
