Oliver von Owen is a stunning XL 2 year old German Shepherd. Our resident “pony” is so handsome that he will have jaws dropping all over town. Still very much a puppy, Oliver has energy and sometimes meets dogs in a pushy manner. This obedient guy thankfully listens to corrections well (most of the time anyway). Being a big boy, Oliver is incredibly strong, but manageable with the correct leash techniques. He rides extremely well in the car and has the happiest grin on his face when you take him on a field trip. Oliver tells us that his favorite activities are meeting new people, getting petted on the head and back, getting his face rubbed, giving kisses, snuggling, and demolishing his toy balls. He also will play with sticks, pine cones and really anything that looks fun. His sunny deposition and silly antics will keep you laughing all day! Oliver LOVES water and wonders if his forever home has a pool for him to splash around in. If not, no worries, a kiddy pool will do! Oliver loves to “scuba dive” into the kiddie pool with his face underwater and then sit around and relax while taking up the entire pool. Oliver has not been socialized with other dogs and does not understand that stepping on other dogs or pawing their head is not how dogs play. As a graduate of our urban training program, Oliver is able to hang out with other dogs in close proximity while keeping his attention focused on you. He just can’t wait for an experienced shepherd owner or one who is willing to take him to training, to fill out an application just for him! He promises to repay his owner tenfold with love, loyalty and lots of happy smiles.
