Polly is a beautiful, 12-month-old Shepherd, perhaps mixed with one of the Hound breeds, which results in a frisky, fun, smart and curious girl who might single out a favorite person in the family.   On a first meeting you may think Polly is playing “hard to get” from her perceived aloofness but, really, it just takes some time for her to feel comfortable and secure.  She likes to approach new people on her own time.  Basic commands come easy and fast to Polly, a treat-motivated Miss who is currently working on her leash manners.  Polly is very playful with other dogs, large and small, and is respectful of cats.   Her David Copperfield sleight-of-hand talents have her making some things disappear:  you may be surprised when she brings your slipper in from the back yard – when did she take that?  Polly’s previous exposure to the world may have been limited, as she seems unsure of loud noises and tight spaces – but is improving every day.  In summary we can say that this delightful girl is a work-in-progress (after all, the Sistine Chapel was not painted in a day) and some patient owner, experienced in setting boundaries, showing leadership and bringing out the best in canines, will feel rewarded by the transformation that lies ahead.
