Rachel "Suds" von Reif is a beautiful 2.5 year old German Shepherd. She asked us to interview her recently in order to share her story with you:
“Hello everyone. My big-girl name is Rachel but my friends call me Suds. Although I was abandoned when I was a little girl, my life got real happy again when a really nice man adopted me from Westside. On the drive home to his house, he told me to call him Dad and promised to love me forever; my doggie heart went pitter-patter – I felt so lucky! Once I settled in, Dad’s grandchild and his nieces and nephews started coming to our house. Some are in first grade and others are in high school, and I welcome all of them with my special bear hug before we start playing together (my favorite game is catch). Dad takes me on frequent walks and praises me when I ignore the neighborhood cats. I much prefer dogs, just about all kinds except little white poodles -- go figure. I was feeling life can’t get any better than this – but now a sad thing has happened. My Dad got sick and and can no longer give me the care I need; he sat me by his side and told me he had to find another good home for me. I could see that he felt badly so I tried to take it like a big, strong girl (95 pounds now) even though my doggie heart was crying. Will you please make Dad and me happy by welcoming me into your family? I promise to be a good girl!
