Ranger von Runkel
Ranger von Runkel is a beautiful 1-2 year old German Shepherd. Per his own words, “Hi! My name is Ranger. Before Westside saved me I was a skinny little fellow, severely neglected, but look at me now! I am a healthy 83 pounds, and am thriving in my foster home, where I have a newborn to take care of, and foster parents who adore me. Despite my large size, I am always gentle with the baby and help my foster mummy out by nudging the little one when she cries (it always works!) My favorite activities include: snuggling (I can do that all day), going to dog parks and doggy day care, going for hikes and long walks, running around with my ball, playing tug-of-war, going on car rides, going to the beach (but the water is kind of icky to me), and eating my bone marrow in my crate. I am extremely dog friendly and am never toy or food aggressive, but I do get excited when I see other dogs and need to be told to sit. I am crate-trained and housebroken, I sleep in the crate every night, and go in there on my own to sleep. My foster parents think I am very smart because I learnt “sit,” “wait,” “lay down,” “paw,” “leave it,” and “no” really quickly, but I am a shepherd after all! I love children but can knock them over in my enthusiasm, especially at the dog park. I can also get protective of my family and territory, but only because I love them so much. I am looking for a home with parents who love me like my foster parents do, and maybe one with a big yard for me to run around in. If I sound like your ideal dog, please fill out an application soon, I can’t wait to meet you. |
