Ray von Kern is an extremely handsome 5 month old classic German Shepherd puppy. If it weren’t for the fact that Ray is blind, people would be lined up for him.. Both Ray and his sister were born blind, the breeder left them early in the morning tied to the door of a kill shelter. His sister flew to a wonderful out of state home. Ray is large for his age, and we estimate that he will be around 90 pounds. He is so gentle and sweet. He loves the dogs in his foster family and is especially attached to a Boston Terrier female; he is always by her side. We think a friendly dog is something that is necessary for Ray in his new home. She is his eyes often and he relies on her. A safe yard is important no pool unless it is safely gated and locked. Ray functions so well, his foster mom said you would hardly notice. Ray has a ball with a bell in it; he loves to play with his ball. He leans up against things as he guides himself or he is near the Boston. In a former foster family with two little girls, they wore bells on their shoes, the puppies loved to follow the girls or watch T.V. snuggled up close on the couch. Ray is just one of the most amazing dogs, his foster mom would love to keep him but she already has 4 dogs. Anyone wanting a therapy dog to go into hospitals and cheer people up, Ray would be an inspiration!
