Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles

One of our volunteers took Shorty home over the weekend and this is what he had to say:
I just wanted you to know that Shorty was great this weekend. This little dude just wants attention and affection. For all the energy that he shows during the day I was a little worried about how he would be when I got to apartment but he surprised me. I had a rawhide left from Hunter's visit a few weeks back and Shorty just settled down and chewed it up. He played with my rope bone and kong toy and then hopped up on my couch to relax while I watched some TV. He never attempted to use the bathroom in my house and never made a fuss. When I went to sleep he grabbed the bone and hopped up onto my bed and played with the bone while I fell asleep. He was great on his walks with meeting other dogs and people although he does not like guys in wetsuits and carrying surfboards but then again I doubt he has ever seen a surfboard before. I have a couple pictures to develop with Shorty down standing at waters edge. He was a little unsure of the waves crashing but if the water was not chilly and I'd gone for a swim I am pretty sure that he would have followed. Just thought that you would like to know. He will do great with an individual that will spend a lot of time with him or a family with slightly older kids who will play with him.
