Zhara von Zermat
Zhara von Zermat is a classic looking 2 year old German Shepherd. NO CATS. Per her foster dad: Zhara is a wonderful “family pet”, who, as a bonus, happens to be regal, alert, proud, confident and a picture-perfect German Shepherd. She is always admired and respected by passers-by, and one person asked if she is a police K-9. She just has that special stance. Of the eight dogs that we have fostered, Zhara has been the easiest, least-demanding, and best all around German Shepherd – just a pleasure to have around. She is a loyal and affectionate dog. She is a happy dog and full of life, and although around two years of age, she enjoys acting like a puppy, and being silly and goofy at times. Zhara is housebroken, and can roam around the house without any worries. She has no bad habits, and does not dig or chew on things. She is well-socialized, loves being around her people, and she is very friendly with adults and kids alike. She also gets along with other dogs, from puppies all the way to seniors. She feels uncomfortable and agitated around cats, however. She can be left alone in the yard, on the balcony, or in the crate without getting anxious. She is not bothered by loud noises, such as big noisy construction trucks going by. She barks when people walk their dogs past the yard, but only briefly; she doesn’t bark at or get agitated around other dogs when she is being walked. Zhara is very athletic, strong, fast, and light on her feet, and is always up for a nice walk. Although she is energetic, she is also happy just lying by your feet in the family room. She really feeds off of your energy: if you are excited and playful, so is she; but if you just want to sit back and relax, she will be happy to join you. Zhara is very affectionate with the family, and appreciates a belly-rub anytime. At the same time, she is always very alert and aware of her surroundings – a true watchdog. Zhara is very easy to brush and to bathe, and she actually enjoys it.She is very smart, and eager to please. She knows the “Sit”, “Shake”, “Stay” and “Down” commands, and comes to you when you whistle. Zhara would love to have an owner who would take her for walks a couple of times a day, and jogs would be highly appreciated. She would love a yard and someone to play ball with. She would love advanced training such as search and rescue or agility training. |
